01Honda VTEC SOHC Civic -vs- 03 Toyota VVT-i DOHC Corolla

Aight, well ya'll know my cousin in law sells cars on his own lot.  Well Last night he came by the house cause he is engaged and his party is ccoming up this weekend.  Well anyway he came over w/ a red 01 VTEC Single Over Head Cam Civic coupe.  So when he got there he was like we should race.  So I was like aight no dought.  Now mind you this is VTEC and STICK -vs- VVT-i AUTO(less advantage, VVTL-i=similar to VTEC).

Well we squared off on a side street by my house, well I dropped it in the last gear, OD off and pressed the brake and gas to around 3500-4000 RPMS.  One of the other cousins counted it off, 1, 2, 3, I let go and we both start pulling but I am about a half a fender away from him, and them boom, my 2nd and 3rd kick in as I start up shifting, next thing I know I am about my whole car length in front of him.

Well that was take 1, take 2 went the same, but as I was about to start killing him again a car was coming against me  (cause this time I was on the opposite side of the road), so I had to brake and cut into the lane.

Anyway we get back to the block and he was like man you car is pretty fast, so I was like yeah its aight, but he was like nah its pretty fast for an auto.  So I guess my AEM CAI AND BORLA EXHAUST made a bit of a differance.  So we are planning to go at it again (if he doesnt sell the car yet) once I get my AEM pully and hopefully a header.

Anyway that was my high light of the weekend and this was last night around 10:30 so you know I was so hyped and not tired no more.  So now I am so hyped I couldnt sleep last night and didnt fall asleep till like 3 AM and had to get up at 6:20 AM this morning, man Im tired, but man getting all amped up and hyped was worth it, cause it was a good kill.

BTW, we dont condone street racing, so please be careful and dont get caught.

dont ya love whipping those smack talking civic drivers....i ripped a 03 si on friday....got him by at least 8 car lengths...

yeah especially when its FAMILY , lol :lol: .  But nah he wasnt smacking off but just wanted to run cause we always talk about it, but he used to race me w/ a S class Benz, I was like man what kind of contest is that, lol.  We were supposed to race b4 also in his Integra VTEC but it was still a project on the lot, and recently it was just jacked out of the lot.  Anyway yeah we're probbaly run a few more times, but I cant wait for Etown.

dont worry no need for that, I am confedant that my ride will hold its own maybe not win, but hold up.  LOL.  I just wait wait for that red, yellow, gren to hit and be free, cause for those 10 seconds or less, Im free, sorry had a lil F&F deshavue, lol.

yeah Civics basically are my FEEL GOOD races, lol.  Especially after being beat up on by a RX7, lol.  But if ya'll know me by now, i dont care, I'll race anyone at any time, win or lose, its alla bout the adenelien rush baby, especaially when them numbers start reading 100+, lol.  Chris man we're gonna have fun at etown and coming back home buddy, lol.

Good luck... Those are whats called "phantom headers." They have them on the website but when U go to order them, their never in stock. Ever! Do a search on VVTI about them and see the responces. Peeps sent money to them, only to get the money back a month later.

Yeah but first do a search on the VVTI forums for OBX headers and see the responces about them before even thinking about them. I too was going to buy them but decided not to after reading those forums about them. Headers for our cars are hard to come by.

Like I said headers are hard to come by for 98-00 Rollas. Otherwise I would have gotten them already...

well the other night i raced one of my boys, he has a 2003 VW GTI VR6 (stick)..all stock.....vs my 03 rolla LE (auto) all i have is the TRD high performance air filter and strut bar ...like i knew he would win...but...i had him off the line...but once he shifted to second he took the lead by about one car length...i am happy to say that i was able to keep up with him the whole way till we both shut down....i did have it in L then 2 then D, but i didnt have OD off....maybe if i had it off it would have been a closer race...well lets keep it safe out there on the roads...peace....

Nice kill man. Its the driver a lot of the time too. I raced out by my house in the middle of nowhere, it was completely safe. It was me vs a stock 98 corolla ce, both automatic. He pulled on me and then later he told me how he did it. I was very impressed but still like "damn!" lol

Jeff....did you end up getting your level 10 torque converter?  Because my car only revs to like 2400 rpm with the gas and brake to the floor. I have heard of people getting them to rev higher but the only way i know of is with a torque converter.

wouldn't surprise me.  :lol:  yeah seriously, i wish my car would launch that high.  That would make me so much faster if I could launch above 3k plus could leave some better burners  :twisted:
