WELL I RIPPED OUT THE EXTENSION OF THE STOCK AIR BOX. THE BOX SOUNDS A LIL MORE BEEFEIER. AND SUPPOSEDLY THE EXTENSION ACTUALLY ROBBED THE AIR BOX OF AIR, SO ILL REPORT ANY NOTICABLE GAIN
ANYWAY, I ALSO STARTED MY interior bulbs painting them to BLUE. YES PAINT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought glass paint at a local arts N craft store and i started w/ just 1 bulb first, the shifter bulb to see how it goes, worst comes to worse ill replace the bulbs or find condons.

Well I told ya'll I would report on the removal of the extension of the stock air box, let me tell you...ITS GREAT. I totally notice a better acceleration responce. I mean Im not running 10's or anything like that, lol, not yet...but there is a slight performance upgrade to this mod. I dont know if prior to 2003 models if ya'll have it in there, but my suggestion RIP IT OUT, it actually does rob air flow time, and the tube has so many bends even before it gets to the air box. The thread that I read on 2003corolla.org was correct and accurate.
PETE, you shouldve let me rip it out that same day I asked you, lol, you missed out buddy on some performance upgrade at no cost just until you get your trd cai.

Good deal Jeff. How is that glass paint working out? If you are insterested I have blue R34 bulbs that I bought and never used. THis is the common bulb that is in use in the dash lights and gear selector.
Let us know how it works out.

X, I would gladly take them bulbs off your hands. Just bring em to the DIY meet that is comming up on 12/6/03.
The first bulb i painted came out weird looking cause i had to rest it down to air dry, so I have a smudge but dont think it'll make a differance. Im gonna instal the bulb tonight, because you have to let the let paint air dry over night.

REPORT ON MY BULB PAINTING
Well ITS SUCKS A$$.
I painted the bulb, it was fairly blue when I was done, last night I installed the bulb back in, and IT SHINES EXACTLY THE SAME WAY IT DID BEFORE I TOOK OFF THE CONDON AND PAINTED IT BLUE
I think I may have to resort to finding condoms, or INVESTING IS A LED that can be wedged in the same way the stock bulbs are installed. OR FIND BLUE BULBS w/ a high power out put.
It is a sad day in the WORLD OF PAINT...

Xavier, yeah MAN, Ill let you saturday what time Ill roll threw to take them bulbs off your hands.

Dude, spray paint! And it has to be really dark for it to shine blue. THis is what I did, I got a small can of red paint from auto zone, took all of my bulbs out, and painted them red. I gave them like 5 thin coats of paint, and you have to let them dry in between coats. When I put them back in they were not like extremely red, but it is red enough. Anyway, I got everything red right now, and I had great success with the spray paint. You can't go crazy with it, you just have to be careful.
Anyway, it has been like a month since I did this, and the red has not faded not even a little bit.
Give that a try.

I just bought regular Krylon car paint. I bought crerry red, in a small can. I just put some blue tape in the contacts of the bulbs so as not to get paint on those, and held them up with the tape itself. I sprayed around 4 to 5 thin coats, making sure I got all of the bulb covered.
I have done this for my EQ as well since the lights that it came with were blue. I had to get 10 new 12v bulbs from radio shack, and paint them all red again.
I have done this like for 24 bulbs, and they have all come out well. I am happy with the results.
So, yes regular Krylon outside car body paint, and that is it.

You have to get dark paint if you want it to glow blue. It almost needs to be dark purple for it to glow that indiglo color. That is what you want, right?
The EQ came with those color lights. They are actually painted, and they look dark purple.
