I'm not an enthusiast but I still like my '92 Tercel.  It just passed 100K miles but still looks new.
I am going to have to replace the automatic and wanted to know if I could replace it with a 4 speed overdrive from a Paseo.  At 65+ the Tercel is really singing.
I will need to find a Paseo trans if this isn't too difficult.
Any information would be appreciated.

the tranny should work..Manual tranny's from tercels and paseo's are routinely swapped around ..i dont see why it wouldnt work with the auto's what i'm not 100% on is with the overdrive , is that ecu controlled ? not sure how that works.. i do know that an year paseo manual transmiission can be swapped over to any 87+ manual tercel..

I am totally ignorant when it comes the working of automatics and what controls the overdrive gear.  I wish this was a 5 speed vehicle.

I got a lot of info from tercelonline.  I do plan on making the swap.
