So gay I may haft to chuck my cookies....
I mean holly cheese logs, lets mount a big TV in frount of a dyno so you can think your fast on the dyno...
I would also point out that is probibly harder on your car than real racing just because of the heat issues....

Sorry to dubble post but my wife just pointed something out....
#1 it eliminates wind resistance (amoungst other things) as a factor (so a 500hp buss could beat a 500hp sedan asuming they weigh the same)
#2 the fact that it has #1 as an effect means that it is inacurit at braging rights at the DragFag mean nothing in the real world...
#3 it eliminates a lot of the skills invalved in actual Drag racing (like keeping controle of the car in cross wind) so it is no better than playing GT4 with the TV on your hood and controler wired up to your gas ped.
If they like this sort of stuff, they should just build a big arcade GT4 system with real car interiors to drive in...

It can be refined some more to be more credible.
As for air resistance, I’m sure the auto makers have specifics from wind tunnel tests for each make, like a drag coefficient that can be factored into aerodynamic performance at various speeds.
Also, a blower could be placed in front of the radiator and they can tap into OBD2 for other data like on a Dyno.
Steering response can be easily worked out also.

Still not that interesting. It also takes a lot of the human facter out, like curage or the abuility to keep the nose down with pettle feel (considering the car is straped down, I'm sure you can not dangle on there setup...
