I bought a pair of MR2's (in sig). I'm working on the 1985.

I changed the oil (was still nice and tan!), took the plugs out and cleaned them up, cleaned out all the debris, etc.

I put in a new battery and a new negative connector... as the old one crumbled in my hands!

The car wouldn't crank over at all. I figured the starter or motor was seized... till I noticed that the dome light didn't dim when I tried to crank it.

I noticed in the engine bay there was a siren... crap. It had an alarm. I found the main box (behind the radio) and unplugged wires one at a time till VOILA! The car cranks over!!

I put 2 gallons of new fuel in the tank, but it doesn't seem to be reaching the motor. The motor runs great off starting fluid (not for long, don't worry!). No noises, smoke, or anything!

So... I checked the fuses and removed the relays & banged on them in the engine bay... no change.

I also noticed it still says the tank is empty.

So I'm guessing a bad wire somewhere... or a fuse. Everything else works though...

Any ideas? Anyone bored and want to come fiddle with it this weekend? Cheesy

Do you have spark? Check for spark first. Then jumper the +B and FP terminals in the diagnostic connector to make sure the pump runs. (It should run all the time when the key is switched to on, with the jumper installed).

Well I know the motor gets spark, as it runs fine if I dump gas in the intake! As for the pump, I'll try what you said. I think I'm yanking the motor Sunday anyways, but it would be good to get it going off the tank to test the tranny!
