I have been thinking that we have not been getting a lot of traffic for two reasons.

#1  We do not have a domain name yet - we are working on it.
#2  The forums are only open to registered memeber, guests can't browse.

So, should I open up the forums to guests, or leave it closed for a little longer?

Here is a poll! *** Poll running for 7 days***

I think people should be able to read them, not post unless they sign up at least, for 2 reasons

1.  the private thread w/ sensitive info )phone #'s etc etc)
2. to prevent flaming and beef starting

holla

welcome back btw

The private thread is set for viewing by registered users only. If you go on as a guest it will not be seen.

ok granted, but an open circuit will just lead to flaming, and people coming through just to mess and tick people off.  I think the best thing to do is to keep it as a sign up thing.  best way to keep track of everything and people able to take care of problems should they arrise.  Picture this, I come through minding my own business, then I find this site, I notice I can post w/ out having to sign up, HUMMMMMMMMMMMM, ok, I can curse everyone out post garbage all over the site, then what happens everyone gets mad.  then the administrators and moderators have to start the process of cleaning out the fourms and such.

too much heart ache for an open circuit.

holla

BTW  JUST MY thoughts.

Yes, agreed. I was thinking more on the lines of letting people browse the forums withouth having to signup. If they want to post, then they need to sign up. How does that sound?

view and no post power sounds perfect unless they sign up, then it would be exactly like the majority of the sites

The poll is 50/50 right now. I am still tempted to open them up like described above, but I am not sure yet. I will wait for the poll to end and then I'll decided. Let me know if anyone has anymore input!

I think it's important for people who wander into the site to have the power to view the forums. I'd be very hesitant to sign up if I don't know what's happening inside. I usually refrain from signing up at sites until I see a thread I'd like to join in to discuss. There should be no anonymous posters.

OK, regardless of the poll, I have opened up the forums for browsing only to guests. This should allow people to read what's going on, and if interested then they should be able to register. The contacts forums can only be seen by registered users.
