Brainstorming the Corolla Car Club name!

Yes, this would be a good way to get more people. I was also thinking on making fliers to post up in places (like car shops and stuff) We also need to start getting more content on this site so that it always stays fresh. There is a toyota owners website ( www.toyotaownersclub.com ) but it is based out of London. There is a Encyclopedia section in this iste that would be cool to have filled with car terms, you know like Rotors = Disc brakes, or what the grades of oil mean. All of this information can be found on the web, and I am starting to collect it, but if people have some time it will be nice to get a list together. YOu know a simple document will suffice since I can translate it to the site rather easily. We also need to start getting people from other sites posting here. I think I might be able to get some stuff for free (like DVD's) from work so that maybe we can raffle it at the meets just to have more people show up. If anyone else can get stuff that would be cool as well. I can see also what I can get for cheap so that we can have some type of event at every meet.

I have also thought of the idea of what happens when we move to bigger and better things. Hopefully we might have people involved that will be able to carry the torch at that point. From what I can see this group has been going for at least at year unoficially, so I think there is some interest.  These are just ideas flowing through my mind. Let me know what you all think.

See guys, from the names i suggested, i am trying to stay away from toyota, or corolla, we could just limit the car club to imports like some of the names i suggested sort of give off that impression.  i think over all, we should pick a universal name, but i think for our own benefit, maybe we can just keep it exclusive to imports only.  In reality the majority of our firends drive imports anyway, lol.  But anyway, bottom line main thing, lets keep it universal.  cause unfortuantely we have honda/acura drivers as friends/relatives, lol.

Yeah, and we can also make some Criterias for Joining the club.. So that not just anybody can join the club, cause if not we're going to have everyone and there mamas in the club, and will be alot harder to organize...  We can make a criteria of Toyotas prefered, and other makes have to be recommended by a current active members of the club and that sort of stuff..  Or we make it that anyone that wants to join regardless of make, has to be recommended by a member...  If there is someone who is interested in joining the club that we do not know, they will have a trial period so we can get to know that person better and see if we want him or not..  And in that Trial period that person must attend a certain number amount of meets, or participate on Message board discussion, etc...  Doesn't necessarilly have to be these that i just listed, but ya get jist of it...

Well, we would have to create bylaws once the club becomes official, but for now we need to pin down a name. I think it needs to be somewhat general, but still have some type of tie to Toyota. I have been thinking about it, but I can't come up with anything yet.

I thnk I like the Team Superior Motives the best, but I am not crazy about it. I personally would stay away from the xx  ones just because it does not sound too official.  I gues Team TSM or Club TSM might not be that bad. We can always have a small line designating the club as Toyota first.

Ummm, i know some people have brought the fact of merging into an already establish club..  But that would be something that people would have to vote upon, whether people want to merge and join and already established club or create a new one..  I know Tommy from Team EC3 once invited us to joined his club as well..  I dont know what the majority of people would prefer... Either way, you wouldn't be banned, your always more than welcome to participate in events and join us, unless somebody else has a problem with it, but i dont see why they would..

spoken like a true enthuaist.  but i dont know about the rocket clubname, lol.  anyway, i think we should start our own, and maybe if anything associate w/ other clubs as, and i use this word losely, "sister clubs", or "brother clubs".  meaning we colaborate from time to time together and there isnt but love between the groups. but will be identified as seperate unified car clubs.

I agree with klepto, let's start a new club. I also like the other ideas of making it toyota focused as oppssed to just corolla. Or maybe we can make it Corolla first, All toyota second, and other cars third with the heaviest weight on the Corolla part. This would mean that most of the information on the site will be geared mostly to the Corolla platform, and then trickle down to the other models/cars.

But we need to start somewhere, and that is the name!!!

So people, focus, the name!

I left a message in the Events/Meetings in vvti over there, so we'll see what happens.

How about:

Team RTU = Racing Toyota United
Team TRU = Toyota Racing United
Team CTM = City Toyotas on the Move
Racing JTC = Just Toyotas in the City

and I can't think of anymore. I know they are not the greatest, but it's an addition.

Do you think the newly announced supercharger for the 1ZZFE from TRD will fit the 2002 and below 1ZZFE? I read somewhere that it would only fit the 2003 and above.

I'm sure the supercharger will fit. I think the only problem is the hood clearance. How much does it cost to make a custom hood? I'm considering buying it and installing with help from some friends. Maybe I could make a DIY guide for it.
