Hey guys just curious to know if anyone had a breakdown of the toyota tranny codes. For example I know the engine code ( 5efe means 5th gen e series and the second e means fuel injection) But I don't know what tranny codes mean for example A242L. If anyone, know please help.

Also, Tercel auto cars come with A132L. Are these interchangeble with the A140L from the corrolla 90-92, is it mechanical or electronic. I started thinking about this because the corolla from that time also used the A131L. What about the tercel A242L (95-99 tercel) is that manual or electronic? Thanks more curiosity than anything.
