I need to get from MA to VT... 300 miles... how to do it?

I live in MA, and my car has been stored (after an engine swap) in VT. Come the first week of April, it is time to go get it.

I drove up there to drop it off and took my other car back (my other car was up there for engine work as well) last time, and I really don't feel like driving 300 miles again.

So, I'm looking into alternate methods of transportation.

I need to go from Leominster, MA to Newport, VT.

I checked with Greyhound, and this is what I came up with:

Leave @ 730AM
Arrive @ 630PM

That's ELEVEN hours!  @_@  x_x

And, that only gets me to Montpelier, VT. I still have to go 65 miles north via cab or something.

So that's totally out.

What else can I do? Or am I destined to drive up there with a friend and both of us drive back?

train? Amtrak? checked that out. Are you anywhere Boston? JetBlue flies from Boston to Burlington VT, but I am not sure how far off that puts you.

If not rent a car one way, and drop it off over there.

Rent a car... didn't think of that! I'm not near Boston, but I could drive there, I do it all the time.

As for Burlington, VT... that's 76 miles away.

walk. you need your exercise... you'll probably make it there by next week! ... do you know anyone in burlington that would be willing to pick you up from the airport, and drop you off at tweaks? you're getting work done on an mr2 right? do you know shelby [blitz2] on this board, and mr2oc... hes a pretty good guy, and is usualy up for helping fellow mr2 owners out.. see if hell be home one of the weekends [as he goes to school at UNH, he may not be...]

and what the hell is a metro? .. we're up in the backwoods of the united states. they dont make them those darn der tings up here. boston, yes... vermont, not so much. maybe random ass frieght trains, but nothing any person can just jump on. lol
