Well.. due to ice in the parking lot of work today.. some man just creamed the MR2. Sweeeeeetttttt. Rear bumper = peace out. Drivers side taillight = peace out. $411.34 in STOCK parts alone. Who knows what the aftermarkets are gonna cost.. i actually think less.. thank god for him. Andddd the best part? He didnt have insurance. He's gonna love this one. I really wish he had insurance, cause then id get him for paint too. oh man, id have my whole kit. but seriously.. why me eh?

^ There is an MR2 at a local junkyard near me (right near UConn at least).  You can pull your own parts off it.

If you have MA plates you have insurance?  I wish all the states where like that (can?t get a plate w/o insurance and to cancel insurance you haft to turn the plate in, it?s on the tidal)?  Years ago my 911 got hit, not bad but a little damage.  Guy had no insurance and didn?t have the money to pay for the damages (911 parts = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and then some).  He destroyed a tail light, dented a rear fender and tore the wing off.  The wing alone was $2500, let alone paint, body shop time and other parts.  I didn?t end up paying for it in the end, His company did.

I feel for you and would probably beat the guy to within inches of his life before turning him over to the cops, but that?s me.  So best luck getting it fixed and all.

after countless tries calling his house last night to only get a busy signal, i called his work today. i finally got ahold of him.. and hes like

him: 'ah man, sorry i didnt get back to you yesterday... i seriously have no money at all. im goin through some rough **** right now'

me: 'well.. ok?'

him: 'i should be gettin my taxes back soon, i can pay you then tho'

me: 'when are you gonna get them?'

him: 'im filing tomorrow, should have them back in about 2 weeks.. i can either do that, or pay you this weekend some, and some next weekend.. etc.. this paycheck is gonna suck ass, so ill only be able to give you like.. 50$ now'

me: 'how bout you call me at the end of the week, and tell me what your gonan do. i dont care how i get it, as long as i get it. i just need to fix the damn thing so i can drive it again'

him: 'alright, thanks man'

In the end, i could be a complete ****, and get him for labor at a body shop for removal and replacement of the taillight and bumper [which, i dont know if any of you know, is ****ing stupidly expensive].. but i do my own work. i could get him for paint, i could get him for the bumper carrier inside the bumper that he bent, and im sure other stupid things. I'm not being a ****, because it was crazy icey, i know this.. there was nothing he could have done to stop it. He seems like a nice enough guy, and im putting myself in his shoes. He made a stupid decision to not have insurance, and now hes paying for it. All i want is the money for the parts that he ****ed up, that i cant fix. It may have not been his FAULT it happened, but he needs to take responsibilty for it. and he is. I'm not one of 'those guys' that just ups and sues the next guy for ****s and giggles. Nor am i that guy that goes and beats the **** out of the next guy either. But, i did mapquest his house last night, and ive been doing many searches on him, in case he does **** me over, believe me.

The guy that smashed my 911 was reading a book while driving and did not see the red light?  Pretty dumb if you ask me.  It just pisses me off when people don?t carry the appropriate insurance because it makes it more expensive for the rest of us.  In the end, my insurance was going to reimburse me for fixing it and then sued the guy for unsafe driving to get there money back.  It turned out he was driving a company vehicle so the company settled out of court and ended up sending me the reimburse check.  Ever since that whole fiasco I have been a little violent about people who don?t have insurance.

If he doesn?t pay you back, I would at least file a police report and they will fine him for not having insurance.

no, they wont fine him for not having insurance... its not mandatory in NH. yay. Thats ok, the police wouldnt come down because 'they had nothing to do with it' ... thanks a lot police, its not like i pay your salaries and gas to do your job or anything. ****s.

I'm filling out an accident report with the state right now, and i'm going for quotes at body shops a little later [ill do my own work, but if i end up going to court, i can have professional quotes].. apparently, if he doesnt have insurance, and he doesnt pay for repairs, then he'll lose his license. I'm not gonna bring him to court unless he starts to really screw me. im gonan call him up on friday, and if he starts giving me ****, im just gonna look at him and be like 'listen, either i can bring you to court for $1,400 [or whatever], or you can pay me the 450$ in parts, and call it a day. Your call.'

i tried, the police said they had nothing to do with it [bull****], and that i had to file a state accident report.. come to find out, its only for 1000$+ of damage... i went to get an estimate yesterday for the report... $980.00. ****in. a. whatever. hahah. so this guy better pay up, or im taking him to court for the full 980$.

I own three cars, 92 MR2, 95 MX6 LS, and an 88 MX6 GT Turbo. The 88 is off the road, as i had 2 cars on the road, and it was a waste of money to register a car that i probabbly wouldnt be driving. So, my MR2 got hit tuesday. Wednesday, i had to go drop off some drawings in mass for work [i work for an electrical engineering firm].. and on my way down 93, my tensioner pulley froze for my water pump and power steering. Belt exploded under the hood.. lost PS.. didnt even know it was attached to the water pump.. until i looked down and it was overheating like a mofo. i get off the highway, and leave the car in mass, as i dont have AAA, and i couldnt afford the tow. Yesterday, i was going to go get the car with a friend that had AAA. On my way to my uncles [long story as to how the car situation was gonna work out.. but regardless].... i lost complete pressure in my clutch system. SWEET. so, my mr2 was now sitting on the side of rt 111, with my gf behind me in her car.. the police station calls the most expensive tow company, who proceeds to rape me with a 110$ tow, 5 goddamn miles away. come the hell on. so after my mr2 was brought to my uncles on the tow truck [after he scraped and tried to kill my exhaust twice].. my gf brought me home, then i took my moms car to boston to pick up my friend, we met with the tow truck in tewksbury, followed him home.. then i brought my friend back to boston, adn came home.. getting home around 1:30am. so now i have 2 cars sitting next to each other at the mechanic. AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEE.

hit my uncles yesterday... threw the mr2 on the lift. was gonna replace the slave cylinder, but then realized that one of the clutch lines coming from the apportioner going to the slave was cracked. so i took it off, took the ends off it, fabbed up a new line, threw it on.. good as new. the car still looks like ****, but at least its back on the road and one less thing to deal with. the mx6 on the other hand.. wont even start anymore. hmmm. my life haha.
