OK here is the deal, I have 89 240sx, A/T with a KA24 in it. I already stripped it of its backseat and made a whole new flooring for it, now for the hard part. Since I dont have M/T or a SR20 do I just simply lay the car on the ground or go with a set of coilovers??

Coilovers is my vote, but do the high quality ones, not the cheap coil jacket over the struts.

Now, this is why I wanted to do this post. Would the car not look better at a show if its layed out? It is going to be a show car anyway or for less wear and tear and money options do I do the coils?

I always thought air ride made a car look like some one forgot to put a suspension on it?  But to be honest with you I don?t like air ride because of the lousy performance.  To me, if it?s a performance car of any type, even if it is just for show, it should have functional performance.  If it?s just for bling sell the 240 and get something that is more of a bling mobile, it?s almost sacrilege to make a performance car into all bling at the expense of it?s performance.  If you really want a bling performance car, go with the performance components that have a bling factor and/or the bling components that do not sacrifice performance to be there.

Coilovers if you buy a good set will way out last an air ride and have much better resale value.  You can get some pretty blinging coilovers that are respectable and you can lower many pairs to put the cassis just about on the ground (you could take it to the show than drop it if you are driving it there).  You would also get more respect out of people like me if you do coilovers (even if you don?t have an SR20, don?t go full bling on us and kill the performance).

The last thing I am gonna do is "BLING" out a 240, repectable, yes, "BLING", NO!! The performance components will be there either way. I appreciate the honesty and it has already influenced my decision. There will be no SR20 because of the A/T but it will still be sweet to show and have some pep behind it. Maybe sometime in the future I'll have the DOC hook me up with a SR swap and M/T to A/T swap...........just a thought.
