is it worth it?
I can get a set of DC sport headers 4-2-1, the headers and the piping right before the exhaust.  It will cost me about 300 shipped.  They were used for about 1000 miles.
I currently have an AEM CAI on my car and a Magnaflow Muffler.  Can I expect any worthwhile gains out of this mod?

I am not sure what type of restrictions the 8G galant has , but a header upgrade is always a good thing on any car. Sometimes you loose a little low end, but gain in the high end.

I would say not to expect too much, but you will probably get a better breathing car.

How much do they run new? And also look into getting a new gasket.

you probably would get more gains by buying a used 4g63 head with turbo.

I think you have a 4g64.  It's a 2.4 right? anyway, there is this guy here in E. Hartford that is a master at making 4g63 strokers.  What he does is take the 4g64 block and mates it with a 4g63.  good power gains!

Looks pretty decent, I guess it really depends on what your future plans for the car are. Smiley

okay still thinking about purchasing the set up. I am now hearing from the seller that my check engine light will stay on. Anyone know what the fix is for that? Cause I know I wont be able to pass inspection with that light on

Well, on Subarus they usually do a resistor trick on the O2 sensor to trick it into thinking that the readings are correct. I also heard of people using spark plug foulers on the O2 sensor to make the distance from the pipe longer. I take it you are losing a cat by installing this header?

It is all about tricking the computer into thinking that the readings are within spec.

Ah I see I gotcha Laz.  Yeah it looks like I would be losing the cat by installing these.  I have heard of the resistor trick also.  What exactly does that entail?

Usually unhooking the resistor at the first connector from the header, and sticking a resistor from radio shack in the harness going back to the ECU in a u position. I think they said a 1K ohm was sufficient. This tricks the computer into thinking all the readings are OK.
