Im looking to turn my 3s in my celica into a really fast motor.  I ran a 14.5 after the swap which I was really suprised.  I was hoping to crack low 14s if not high 13s.  But realisticly my goals are set to high 12s low 13s is what i want.  Im not sure what turbo kit to put on the car.  Ive been looking at ats recently.  They have a 20g kit that comes with injectors rom tune down pipe.  Suprastore has a td06sh20g for 1600 but I would still need a fuel set up.  The ats comes with everything but its 3000.  Just not sure what to do for alot of power?

I've heard lots of good things about the ATS kit. I've not used it myself yet though.

go to www.mr2oc.com and click on the genII forum.

anser all your questions.  But work of advise... do a search first, cause you will get flamed heavily for not searching.  Plus, all these questions ARE archived... so just do a search.

Dan, I would stick with ATS products.  I will be getting my CT27 or CT20B from Aaron at ATS.  He is a great guy with a great 3sgte/mr2 related company.  But I guess Im partial since I have an mr2.

Just source together your own kit, find a Manifold to use and go from there. Always pointless in my opinion to buy a full kit for more than just sourcing together all the parts. Hell, would probably be better to just have a custom tubular manifold made, it's not always that expensive. I know someone who could make one for you for about $800 give or take, he was going to be doing the manifold for my 240SX.

If you can afford a custom kit, it will be better.  Able to design a correct manifold with the right sizing turbo will make a huge difference.  Plus also selecting the right combination of parts helps too.

I have seen a full kit vs. custom.  Almost similar specs, different parts used and there was a difference.  Both turbos were T3, just different specs on them.

Carefully choosing the right parts with the right design can save you more money later on.  Once a good aftermaket kit, you will probably want more.  I have known someone who redid his car minimum 3 times, but lost count after that, because he tried different kits.  Later on he choose to go custom and found a hugh performance gain.
