i currently own a 1987 tercel and will have a 1988 corolla (4af) in a few a couple of months when my mother gets her new car. I can only afford to insure 1. I love the tercel , however what i dont like is the limited after market support for it and the direct swaps for it being the 4efte and 5efhe are great engines but when it comes to parts there are none readily availbale here so that one of the downsides , as far as the corolla i've looked for suspension parts for the corolla , and it maybe that i'm not looking in the right places but i cant seem to find anything for the corolla , strut bars, lowering springs, coilovers etc. is there no market or do i need to look harder?

from what i hear the 4af isnt really capable of putting out any decent #'s , is that correct?
my next direct fit (no custom mounts, correct me if im wrong ) is the 4ag(e), the carbed version i assume would be less complicated. the 4age i assume would need a custom harness, question here is how much custom work is neccassary ? i mean is it just a couple of obvious wires that need to be worked on or is it a major project which would probably be too overwhelming  for someone who doesnt know much about wiring

just a couple of things i need to know before i choose which to keep,

Thanks any advice/correcitons would be apprecaited

You should be able to find some suspension parts for the Corolla if you keep looking. Any AE92 parts should fit.

The 4AF isn't worth putting any money into. Yes, the 4AGE does bolt in, but there is no carbed version. You will need the wiring harness reworked. I can do it for you for $350 if you send me both harnesses. It is a major job.

Also you'll need an EFI fuel tank, pump, and a new line ran. I have the tank, pump, and sender unit if you're interested.
