Well, all sports springs are going to lower your car. With coilovers you have a choice as to how low or high you want it to be. Remember you need to get new perfomance struts with your springs to avoid a crappy ride. Also stock struts are not designed to take the higher compression of coilovers or  sports struts, so they will wear out in not time leaving you with a bouncy ride.

Suspension upgrades are not only done for looks, or should not only be done for looks, but actually as a performance upgrade.

Going 70 MPH while taking a curve and not having your car bouncing all over the place: PRICELESS!

Whadaya mean low already?
Eibachs = 1.3" drop
Coilovers = 0-6" depending
H&R = 1.6"
B&G = 1.6"
Intrax = 1.75"
Apex = 2.0"
I wanna check out someones coilovers, cause I heard the ride is harsh and if they are anything like B&G's I couldn't take it daily driving.

The thing with Dragonrolla's ride is that he has a kit and it sits low already with the stock suspension. I think is the same problem that njtony had. That is one of the reasons why I am staying away from a kit, the way I drive I would tear that thing to pieces in no time!!  Tongue  And My car sits low already. Rob was telling me that my back wheels are tucked in as I drive in the expressway! You need to take a picture of that Rob next time we roll together!

yeah i m facing the same problem
my car is 4" above the groun
so say i lower it 1.5-2" it will be 2" above the ground
that's not good!  Sad

the only 3 solution i have think of is
1) coilovers ..but it must be good one like ground contrl or even
the TEIN damper kit, otherwise u will be suffering when driving

2) fender flares to hide the wheel gap..my friend did it on his car
look good!

3) polyurthane bumper, which does not exist  :cry:

I say go with good Coilovers if adjustability along with performance is what your looking for.   Otherwise go with springs and save yourself money..    I love my Ground Control Coilovers and they handle magnificant, with not as much harshness/bounce as i expected.. Yes it is firmer rougher than spring but not nearly as harsh as what some people describe, although mine are $370 Coilovers not the $100 ones u see all over..

Ok question? Why are you looking at coilovers if you do not want a drop on your car? And is your ride not good now? THe concensus on all the boards is that people that have done the stock strut/coilover setup would be able to do it again would do it right the first time around. There are a lot of stories of people getting crappy rides, and blowing struts because of the difference in hardware. Of course there are also the few people that said everything went OK, but in the end they ended up swapping their struts anyway.

So, it's up to you. You have a unique situation in that you can't just get struts/springs because of your kit, but if you get coilovers you are going to keep it at the stock height? Anyway, of you don't mind going to the labor of doing it again if a strut blows, or if you don't mind if the ride turns out crappy then go for it. You will never really know unless you do it.

My advice stil stands. New coilovers, NEW STRUTS.

Just my 2c's

bigger rims?!?!?

hmmmm.... i dont think that i should do that... see... in order for them to not bottom out... i would have to get a real low profile tire....
and i wear out tires like crazy....  im... a little bit of a... well... i drive alot.... and i have a tendency to be a lead foot... that is why my tires are so damn thick... they have 80000 mile life... i could probably get them down in 25000

Aaaah! So you want to change your suspension so you don't bottom out anymore? Is that it? Hum, that is a problem. Screw it then, just get a whole air suspension and call it a day!   :lol:  Tongue

air bags=air suspension.  it is made of a tough material tire like.  Really hard to pop.  basically like hydros only no big ass pumps in the trunk, at least i dont think so.  supposed to be the best ride you could even imagine.

Here is a link to a yahoo store that has airbags and the systems, as well as a showcase of cars. It also sells other things like imported lightbulb paint for getting the bulbs in the color that you want. Check it out it has other stuff as well.

actually ride on AIR BAGS is the WORST ride
u can ever imagine...u can easily blow stuff and damage stuff
if u ride over pot holes and bumpy roads...
they are very flimsy!!! the the ride quality is
worst than $45 ebay coilovers

the only advantage is the ability to adjust ride height
with a couple of swtich.

that's ride most ppl with airride don't drive it on the road
they only have it for show!

And i just noticed this post is realllly old.. hehe i gotta stop by here more often

I ended up going with Koni struts and tein springs which ended up costing about 1,000 after installation, beautiful ride though, had to take off my 17 inch rims due to rubbage in the back  :? couldnt even take off with 3 people in the back.. would rub before i left my drive way. Was fine when i first got it but then it settled in and all hell broke loose. Got the Koni struts off www.tirerack.com If u want to check out the drop, with rims, heres a pic of my car
