Is there really a difference for the 03 auto and 04 auto supercharger, i know there are different install kits part #s but is there a big difference with cpu's?

Thanks!

I don't believe that there would be a difference between the two -- unless there are some differences between 03's and 04's.  I would def. consider (if you are going to get this compressor) looking into intercoolers for your car.  Roots-style s/c's get pretty hot (poor volumetric efficiency - about 55%) and engine knock is no fun.  If I am wrong in any of this info, please (veterans) correct me.... =) :2cents:

i do think your wrong.  and i'm gonna tell you why.

Roots are intergrated to the intke manifold.  I don't see how it's possible to route the ic pipes.  i think that's why people that use roots type SC use water injection.

now if we talking about centrifugal sc... that's a whole different story cause then you can use a WAIC.  Now that total sleeper right there

Thank you Don FR.  After reading a really good book on supercharging (by Corky Bell)  I was led to believe that due to the low thermal efficiency of the Roots-style blower, intercooling was practically a necessity.  However, I apologize for using the term intercooler loosely -- the intercoolers frequently used in conjunction with the Roots blower was the air-to-water intercooler.  But, bottom-line, this truly is a matter of opinion -- thanks for the input.  Below is a link to a pic from Eaton that shows a water intercooler with a Roots blower.....  Thanks again!

and uh.. to answer this question...

the 03 corolla ECU has different fuel mapping and ratios than the 04 models.  why?  probably cause people complained they didn't get 40mpg so they changed it, who knows.
but I've seen the result of an 03 kit put on an 04, completely burned out the catalytic converters in 3 months, and detonation under acceleration most of the time while using 91 octane fuel.

Corky Bell... now that was a waste of money.  I too baught the book.  And it's just plain garbage.

I should know... I'm a Mechanical Engineer.

I do here ya on the thermal efficiency... but its still crap.

   That's what happens when a History major like me starts working on cars -- he sees mathematics in a book and (because of high school math teachers) thought numbers mean sophistication.  What better literature do you suggest?  MODS: can we create a sticky for good car books?

as far as i can tell...03-04 seems to be the same thing
inside out...the engine is still a 1zzfe...vvti...
but the ECU i am not sure...

btw
its funny how ur thread bcome a discusion between Don Fusskinrolla
