okay....

you got a really BIG mess on your hand buddy.  The reason is becuase VVTi is all messed up.

Like i said in a post around here... your best bet is to swap the stock drumsticks back on and just deal with exhaust cam gear.  The reason? Because i knew what your going through was gonna happen.

And the funny part... your probably gonna get the same gains with the cam gear, as you will with new more aggresive drumsticks.

Did you install new valve springs and retainers? Are you using a piggyback of any kind?

P1346 sometimes shows up when cars have been worked on lately and someone messed up the mechanical timing, or when someone bends down the oil baffle during an oil change, messes with the cam signal, or damages the reluctors on the camshaft. Or, the VVTi actuator goes bad (very rare).

First, take off the oil filler cap and look to see if the oil baffle has been bent down at all. It should be parallel with the valve cover. If it looks damaged then take the valve covers off and look at the reluctors on the cam (three metal tabs things that stick out) and make sure they're not damaged.

Also, if your timing isn't quite right it will throw this code. Double and triple check the chain timing, even if it's one tooth off you won't really notice from driving it, but the computer will. The timing chain on these engines is hard to get right sometimes.

Start with that and let us know.
