In a few months I'm overhauling my suspension (that darn $$ thing slows me down). I'm just looking for some advice on good products with this in mind: stiff/sporty handling with a modest drop. I think the slammed look would look a little weird on my car. Also, any things i need to worry about with handling -- my dad was talking about bump steer and i'll admit i know nothing about it. Don't mean to bring up a well-worn topic. Thanks!

Get some Eibach lowering springs and KYB struts. It'll give you a moderate drop and good stiffness withouth making it crazy harsh.
I had TRD struts/springs which is basically the same setup, and I loved it.
Check out what prices racingsolution.com can give you.

If you really want a stiff a ride go with Tokico struts. KYB GR-2s (what I have) are less $$$ than Tokicos but have a less stiffer ride, but do a great job. I have TRD springs but they are basically made by Eibach so either one is great. Anything else would be ok, but the namebrands that I've mentioned above are top notch and are what really get noticed...

full coilovers, not sleaves. best preformance and you can adjust the height to your liking.

you want the best suspension?
look at Ground Control coilovers with Koni struts.
Koni and GCs are developed together so you get them like a package.
Currently I'm running GCs with KYB GR2s and i could never be happier. They are the best.
Also remember Ground control are eibach springs... and the customer support is PHENOMINAL!!! you want a different spring rate, all you have to do is give them a call!!
later AE92 with a 3" front drop and 2" front drop

As funny as it sounds that's how it came out to.
The back I didn't have to lower as much because it already was like that.
you would think that by me putting the springs and the new struts I would go back to stock height and then be able to lower it to my liking... but nope. WIERD!!
but i also wanted the flat level look, so i lowered it in the front more. I also new that the car would sag alittle bit in the back, so i lowered it some more.
After I was done... that added and extra 1" to the front I had lowered it. And come next spring, I'm going one down one more turn all around... 8O
