 Donno, but I've been trying to get this lip kit for my FX bumper cover for a year now and I can't seem to get any help from anyone. I really need this lip kit . This is what is stoping me from actually finishing my car. I hope that NJtony or spreeze2000 did not forget about me. If I'am not mistaken these are only made in HONG KONG. :cry: |

Well, I am in the market for the lip kit too. I need it to complete my spoiler kit and I can then throw it on the car. It's what's holding me up, right now. So tell your uncle it's for a AE102 1993-1997 OK.

Have we not covered this topic before? Less you have finally had your questions answered, you can pm me for info on lip kits for the 93-97 adn I can tell you what work has already been done to get ones made, bought, produced etc. And what options there are to get them manufactured shoudl one ever pull enough peeps to go that route. Then we can make a sticky post on 93-97 lip kits info and have it tagged, so every couple months some cat doesn't bring up the same questions. Not a bad idea huh.
Oh if that post sounded negative, it wasn't, seriously there should be a thread post on all info somewhere someplace on the net for this. mostly if your willing to go to work finding into on a lip and pay for it, buy whatever you want and custom it to the rolla.

This lip kit and everything in the picture was made in KOREA. My friend NJTONY, or SPREEZE2000 like some people call him. Did get ONE set, but has NOT been able to get another one UNLESS more than one is ordered. The reason for this is that a few of these fit in a cargo box. SO, if you buy one or 10 the shipping is STILL the same. But, what we need to do is see which ones people want on the boards and order different styles. I want the one on this picture, cause it looks good on my car, and already have the grille and the FX bumper. I just need that to get my car painted. :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: |

The shipping can be split into 10 instead of just 1 person, it can be very costly to ship from HONG KONG to the USA. I am sure that we can get this lip kit and others made in KOREA if we:
1. get a contact person in KOREA
2. do a group buy on the boards
3. stick together and we can get other parts too

You could prolly, or I can get about 7 peeps wanting hte kit now. After talking with NJTony and the price it goes for per piece!!! you'll get 6 of those people to back out. One, that is alot of money up front to give to someone, two I tried to see if I could piece it together, though shippin gi hear is costly, but my understanding is the price of each is set with shipping included for each so 300 bouts per piece is what you pay regardless of together, grouped more than one, or pieced out. So I have found companies willing to make kits if they get enough buyers, and I have currently made my own front lip similar to that one, but the center is completely cut out with STI type slots off to the sides on the bottom. I am making a couple more to play with at the moment, before I consider to make them for people due to the amount work it is taking me to hand make them outta fiber glass when I am not working. So you come up with something and you can count me in on lip set.

yeah that lip is also made in Hong kong. i did have contacts with my people in Hong Kong. but time has pass and i think they forgot about me  LOL. i did tried to fiberglass my own lip kit. but it was too hard. i could get it to match the bumper right. so i stop. |

1. FX bumper (not OEM)
2. FX OEM fog lights
3. FX OEM customized grille
4. FX bumper turn signal lights (not OEM)

Well hmm, my way is pretty unorthadox I am sure as I am not investing in materials for moldsas it is costly and I am not making too many to invest in it, but I removed my bumper, formed wire mesh/styrofoam to the body and coated that in foil (still sticks to fiberglass) and laid fiber glass resin over the catfibers for a layer. then I peeled it off so many horus later as it was almost solid but sitlll shape keeping hard. then I layered the nice thinfiber cloth over it for strength and now that I have shape, I need to just sand smooth and coat some minor imperfections at the corners and such. Then I will see how well it fits, or if I have the same issue you had, which was my first concern starting the process. FIberglass is cool though (pain as well) cut it out and reshape whatever. Invest in sanders/sandpaper though. ALOT!!

Yeah, I can perhaps do a DC way of making Lip Kits for fun. I will get on it here too come. The car may be a beretat in the pictures though as we will just shoot pics from the beretta rear conversion we ae going to be doing. I prefer imports, but nothing less it is made for your car is ever done, I learn so much shop ways of doing things from american owners. Mechanics love GM!! I hope my attempt at HUGE fender flares turns out ok on my car as it is what else. . my car I am sanding into. I may end up crying for cutting into my car with no shop experience.

i tried to make my outa a thick sheet of drawing paper. the kinds that you buy from wal-mart.
i cut out the design, now fiberglassin it. but i dunno if the resin can stick to the carboard. i also added a thin sheet of cloth to it.
ill see how it goes.

Hey G what's up? Can't remember when we emailed last but since you bumped the thread. I know there are no pics, but I am bogged down with my engine swap for almost two months now. The car has to be up and running well as a daily driver before I can care abotu anything else on it at the moment. One of my guys is heading back to Korea in the next couple weeks from vacation, and I have another like I told you in Japan and am waiting for him to get some info for me. They are tracking down all three kits you sent me what it is made out of and what it will cost us dollars vs the homeland currency. I perhaps can get a pic of my fiberglass lip up off the car so it is at least up there but I have been debating cuttin ginto it and changing it drastically for fun. The only problem it has is on one side of the bumper where it curves back towards the door it doesn't sit flush against the bumper. I have just been too busy to work that small kink out. That is a Sagittarius for you, great at project ideas and loves to start but rarely sees them through before he gets bored.

TOPMIX dont deal with individual people...only a company
whos willing to get at least half cargo load of kits (around 20 full kit)
the reason why i can get those kits before
was because i had a company name under my dad
and i ordered "half-cargo" load of body kits
at the same time...
hate to say this but i did kinda tell everyone
that was their only chance to get that kit...
but no one seems to believe me.....
and i did promise the people who got the kit
from me i wont import any more of that kit
so their kit will bcome unique...

I know that now, But All I want is the front lip kit to match my FX buper and the rest of the BOMEX side skirts and rear bumper. So it's not going to look like any one elses ride either, I have made some modifications so you can tell my car a mile away.

because the profit involved is so little
and the work involved is alot...so they think
its not worth the time...
and theres no way they will ship just 1 or 2 kits
with SHIP...so it has to be thru AIR...in
the customer point of view.. u should know
thats very expensive..
maybe u should wait for peter's lip kits
or get it custome made in here...its almost impossible
to get that kit unless u can get a group buy going here
in the US...

I am waiting for a couple doods to email me back on some individual sales. I hate the waiting game. NJTony is right on the group thing. If you can figure out how to get them to do ten lips, I can account for three right now, should your route come faster than my routes at this time. Peter isn't running his company anymore since last summer and the 93-97 lips aren't being done so don't hold your breath on that one.

I e-mailed Andy's Auto Sport to see if they can buy a set of FRONT LIPS from www.TOPMIX.com and I told them that we would have a group buy of at least TEN lips. Just add your name to the list as you repost if you are interested in the group buy. You seriously think it would be less than $200 Ae102. Your crazy at ten lips with shipping you should be happy to be AT $200 and that is more than acceptable for a quality made lip. Peeps is so cheap. Oh and Juan, I said I'd be down for three! so that really makes you at 5 now. But to get the ten you'd have to pm all the people that once showed interest and hit up the other major corolla sites.
