so I just impulse-purchased this piece of software that allows you to mod your ride on your PC (along with manage your team, etc.)  i'm gonna be so hurt if it doesn't have rolla's or matrixes in it. (supposedly it has about 3000 vehicles in it).  thought i'd share....

If I'm guessing correctly, I think he's talking about a video game that lets you tune cars.

there was an article on this in Turbo magazine a few months ago, and the brief write up seemed to indicate that this is actually a viable tool (rather than a video game).  I saw someone griping about it on a different web board ("A little toy for tuner kids to figure out how fast their decals make them go blah blah blah.") and this person said better results could be pulled from a g-tech.  I was led to believe that this actually allows you to "mod" your car on the computer, calculate hp and torque (for those of us who are math-defective), and possibly build a CAD model of a pro-street vehicle.  who knows, I'm still waiting for it. Smiley   and i'll tell you all what's in it when i get it....

Ok, from what I just read it looks like the software package is just a database of cars and aftermarket parts. You create a profile for your car, and it should automatically input all the specs, and if you add something, it calculates more or less how much you would gain from it. What it does not seem to do is connect to your car in anyway, nor does it actually get info in or out from your ride. This is strictly for reference for you to keep in a database, but it does not allow you to manipulate your car, or get more performance out of it. I guess you could do the same with a pen and pencil, the only differenece being that this is computerized, and they give you numbers which they believe is what you would get with X modification.

I think this is just a show tool, and not really geared towards the performance aspect of tuning. Just like I said before, a database to keep your performance numbers in.
