What chip are you referring to? I do not think I have ever heard of a chip for the rolla? anyone?

Hrmm... On ebay they claim they sell a performance chip for RoLLa's. Not sure if they are valid though. That's why I'm asking. Never knew anyone to have a performance chip for our cars...

there is a generis module chip/computer similar to the ones made for hondas out there.  It is also about half the price if not way less than them $200 add ons.  I will try to find the link, Ive read some good reviews about it from 2003corolla.org

So, from reading the description on ebay this is what it says:

From what I read on other sites the Corolla ECU is very hard to modify. I know they are doing it with the supercharger, but who knows what they are doing. I am kind of skeptical that this chip would actually give you more performance, and I guess the only way of testing it would be to buy it, install it, and do a dyno test on your cars with and without the chip. Huum, sounds like a good article for a magazine, doesn't it?
I almost think that if anything your car would suffer of bad fuel comsumption.

So personally I do not know anyone that has it, but I would be interested if someone did have it to know if it does work.

From what I've heard its nothing more than a resistor that tricks the temp sensor of the car.
Which would be bad for seasonal changes.

If you want "REAL" HP get a 4A-GZE swap! As far as the ECU.....hmmm...I seen a lot junk written about it. But to tell you the truth I really don't think it's gonna work. What I noticed that works is swaping a Manual radiator for a Automatic and using the transmission lines as an engine oil cooler to have your engine run cooler and thus gain a bit of PEP!
