Recommended Tire Sizes Are As Follows:

185/65-14 (Stock look for someone who doesn't want performace but a soft ride.)

195/55-15 (Basically the same as above but it shows your trying to add alittle spice to your ride.)

205/45-16 (Just the right balance of performance and stiffness. You will feel the bumps in the road with this setup.)

205/40-17 (Looks great but you rims and shocks/struts will pay if you hit a pothole at high speeds.)

215/35-18 (You will be considered Elite with this setup, but you will soon regret it!)

Juat wanted to add that this info applies to 1993 to 2002 Corollas. Also the offset for the Corollas should be higher thatn 40+ TRD 16" rims for 98-02 are 47+ offset.  If you get any lower offsets you will have to roll your back fenders so it does not rub.

Did anyone try 205/50/16? On the TRD 16" wheels? I have a AE111 REAR disc conversion and I had to recently do a wheel alignment to the rear wheels due to - camber. I had no problems whatsoever with the wheel / tire setup. I went with the 50 for more meat between the wheel and the road. Your ride does not suffer as a 45 setup. The only downfall is that it's a special order tire and not too many manufacturers make it in that size.

I've actually seen 16" TRD Rims come stock with 205/50/16s... Maybe that's TRD's setup. Not sure, but I believe it works and yes there will be more meat between the road and your rim. Maybe TRD know's something we don't.  :-)

I recently had to go with a 195-50-R16 rated tires all around due to the 205-50-16 rubbing in the front from turning the front wheel all the way on either side.
You really can't notice the difference, my TRD wheels are 16X7 wide. They look just as wide as the 205's The 195 are REALLY, REALLY HARD to get. Not too many manufacturers make them in that size. I went with DUNLOP SPORT 5000m 195-50-R16
