I just got my 17" Motegi rims put on, I'm noticing every little bump in the road now, and it's taking a little more turn of the wheel to go around turns.. Is that a normal part of getting larger rims??

ALso check the pressure in your tires. When they mount new tires the techs most of the time overinflate the tires. I can almost bet you that your pressure is probably near 40 PSI
Anyway lower it to around 35PSI to avoid bendingthe new rims.
But yeah, like chris said, bigger rims, less sidewall, more *bump bump*
I'll take you on a ride im mine so you can really get your kidneys shaken!

HAVING 18 INCH RIMS ON MY CAR I FEEL EVERY CRACK AND INPERFECTION IN THE ROAD. AS FAR AS BEING BUMPING MY GOD I FEEL LIKE I'M IN A ROLLER COSTER. AS FAR AS CORNERING I TAKE CORNER MUCH BETTER THEN BEFORE AND MY HANDLING IS 10 TIMES BETTER.
ALSO IS YOUR CAR LOWERED OR STOCK HEIGHT

Stock height. and I got low pros so my speedometer is correct. It just seems weird.. I would think I would have to turn less... not more..

I'd love to lower it.. but two things come to mind.
1: I already scratched up my front lip (still needs to get repainted.) any lower and bottoming out+curbs... I dunno if thats such a good idea.
1: I'm trying my best to keep things as legal as possibly. How low are we allowed to go?

The lowering kits are usually from 1.3 - 1.5 inches which will not interfere with your headlights. If you get some good struts and springs then you should not bottom out. One word of caution though, if you think having lower profiles tires makes your ride uncomfortable, then you don't want to lower it. It will make the ride 100% stiffer, and you will be to make anyone in your car jump in their seat, specially the back passengers!
Personally, I love it!!!

I don't think I'm going to lower it.. because it's going to cause me trouble responding to the fire house. I can't be worried about bottoming out just on speed alone. (RR trax, small hil tops, pot holes)
But any recomendation on some better handling springs and struts??

it depends on the car but i dont think cops have the knowledge on how to check headlight height....all you gotta do to keep from bottoming is come at inclines at an angle and you will be fine The cops here in Suffolk County have "COPE" units. ALL they do is V&T ( Vehicle and Traffic ) stops. They have EVERYTHING. Many times they stop truckers on the expressway and weigh them with some really cool scales. Everything they have fits in their trunk. and believe me THEY USE ALL THEIR TOYS! Most sector cops don't know $h!T. Just that your riced out, and therefor stand out of the crowd. That.. usually I can get away with, being in the Fire Department and all.

I wish I could find out what they use in Police vehicles. Most of you probably never driven one.. but DAMN are they sweet. They can take turns really fast, the ride is smooth, and they handle awsome.

Actually tokico springs are too hard. Just get KYB, but I am not sure if they have them for the 03 rolla. If anything you can rock teins, or eibach makes a kit that will lower it less, with better handling with your stock struts for now. Honestly I have never bottomed out with my struts. I have TRD's but the equivalent of those are eibach springs and kyb struts. you may want to check www.tirerack.com and see what they got. and ebay to teins, or racingsolution.com X

Although, i do miss da smooth comfy ride, I'd still prefer a tighter/stiffer setup, than a smooth set up.. the tighter and stiffer the setup the more i feel in total control of the car.. Too bad i'm not enjoying that right now cause my alignment is way off, and i need a camber kit before i do that. The car is feeling really loose right now..
